Hey monkeys.
I’ve decided to start early, because I’m simply tired of waiting for 50. Now, here’s the post.
Hey, monkeys!
Sonic4572 here with some awesome facts about the loudest monkeys of all! Howler Monkeys!
I’m sure you can guess the reason they’re called Howler Monkeys, right? Yep, you guessed it! Because they howl! They howl to warn other monkeys about incoming predators, or to scare other monkeys away from their territory, or area. Their howl can be heard up to a mile away! That’s a pretty long way xD
Did you know that Howler Monkeys have one of those handy tails that is prehensile? They can hold things (even very small things) with their tail, and also hang from branches from only their tail, if they want to! That’s a pretty strong tail! A really cool thing about their tail is that it has a fingerprint on the underside of its tip (the last part of the tail there is only skin, not fur). Each tail has a unique pattern of fingerprint!
I hope you enjoyed learning a bit more about the Howler Monkey! What else do you know about them?
